It can be used to steal information, cause damage, or explore how systems work.but we can also use it’s for good purpose find vulnerability in system and inform them to patch the vulnerability in this way we protect it from bad hackers.
1. White Hat Hacker (Ethical Hacker)
white hat hacker hack a system legally. get permission from the owner of the company.they are protech system from blackhat hacker .they not damage the system,not steal information from system.
Purpose:
- Protect systems
- not damage them.
What they do:
- bug-bounty
- red-teaming
- find security vulnerability
- pentesting.
- recovery lost digital evidance to help police
2. Black Hat Hacker
black hat hacker are bad hacker .they do illegal hacking find security vulnerability in goverment and tech company system & hack them.
Purpose:for money,revenge,blackmail,power or just for fun.
What they do:
- hack bank account
- steal data and password & sell them
- spread malware & virus in system
- do phishing scam
- deep fake audio & video scam
- ddos attack
3. Grey Hat Hacker
grey hat hacker are the between in blackhat hacker and white hat hacker they do both think .
Purpose:
- Curiosity
- recognition.
- for fun
What they do:
- hack system without permission .
- some times inform sometimes not
- ask for the reward
- they do anything
Script Kiddie
script kiddie is not a fully knowledge hacker they are just learning hacking .they don’t write own script they used already written script form good hackers.they try to hack a system with the help of ai chatbot or already written script.they are not illegal hackers. just they have low knowledge.
Purpose:
- show off
- Curiosity
- experiment
- for fun
What they do:
- used ready made tool by expert hackers
- copy code & command from the internet
- run hacking script without understanding the code
- learn from youtube or hacking articles
